The School was founded by few eminent citizen and educationist in 1957. The school is established in large green field. The Khagrachari government high school is a ancient secondary educational institute at Khagrachari . It has been playing an amazing role in advancing the educational and cultural sector of the district. Nearly 1000 students are learning in the institute under supervision a group of  skilled teachers and staffs. This school takes part in many activities including Red Crescent, Science Festival and others knowledge competition.  The School arranged an admission test is between November–December session and the authorities select the students on the basis of merit position every year.
