The Monirampur Govt Girls High School is one the well-known and oldest secondary educational academy at Monirampur upzila in Jassore District. The School was founded by eminent social-worker Mr.Moslem Uddin Gazi with few others educationist in 1965 to improved the education sector of this district . Monirampur Government Girls High School was established at Mohanpur village in the Indian subcontinent as "Guru Training School" during the British rule on 1965. Junior training was given here, i.e. students who passed the eighth grade were trained to become teachers. Later, Mr. Mosharraf Hossain, Circular Officer, was elected Chairman of the Training School. The training school was transformed into a junior high school on April 1, 1985 with the help of some local celebrities. Among the individuals are Moslem Uddin Gazi, Md. Jalal Uddin, Babu Dulal Chandra Das, Babu Girindra Nath Ghosh, Dr. Mohiuddin, Monirampur Police Station Circle Officer, Mr. Raich Uddin, School Inspector Saeed Moniruzzaman and some other local personalities.
The school started with two tin sheds and 15-20 students. Initially, Mrs. Nuruzzaman Begum was the headmistress. She passed the IA examination and was the wife of school inspector Saeed Moniruzzaman. From 1975 to 1980, the school's educational activities were limited to secondary schools. On September 21, 1971, the ninth grade was approved. It started its journey on August 21, 1982 as an approved bilateral high school for girls. At the same time, primary education activities (1st - 5th grade) were discontinued. On February 2, 1986, then-President Hussein Muhammad Ershad approved the government to bring the girls' school under government control. And the name of the school was established as Manirampur Government Girls High School. Moktadar Chowdhury, Deputy Commissioner of Jessore District, had a significant role in this governmentalization move, he registered 1.04 per cent land in the name of the school.
