Shahabuddin Medical College and Hospital is one of the forerunners among private medical colleges in Bangladesh. Shahabuddin Medical College is running MBBS course by taking approval from Govt. of Bangladesh; Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council and affiliated to University of Dhaka from 2003. Founder Chairman Alhaj. Mohammed Shahabuddin an eminent businessman and social reformer take initiative of forming this Medical College to serve the humanity.

Bangladesh is a densely populated developing country with increased demand of both preventive and curative health care services. The Govt. of Bangladesh is committed to provide, adequate health services to the people according to social equity and for which eligible, efficient and competent doctors and other auxiliaries are required for the same. Along with the Government Medical Colleges, Private Medical Colleges in Bangladesh are performing very significant role in producing such competent doctors and providing specialized health care facilities at a reasonable cost.

Along with the Bangladeshi students Shahabuddin Medical College also admits foreign students from around the globe. 50% seats of Shahabuddin Medical College is allotted for admitting foreign students.
