Dr. Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun graduated from Mymensingh Medical College. He started his residency in general surgery and casualty surgery at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. After passing BCS (Health) he enrolled in the government service and later appointed as an Assistant Registrar of the Dept. of Surgery of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. He spent two years at BSMMU and obtained FCPS in General Surgery from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS) and achieved MRCS from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He was awarded FMAS by Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India.

Dr. Mamun is the first Bangladeshi surgeon to be awarded prestigious fellowship in Colorectal Surgery by Association of Colon and Rectal Surgeons of India and obtained 3rd position in the FACRSI exam. With his effort and enthusiasm the first colorectal out-patient department in Govt. sector commenced working in the year 2013 at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital. He was invited as a guest faculty in a number of international conferences, symposiums   and workshops at home and abroad.   Dr. Mamun is the author of one book chapter on colorectal surgery (Benign Anorectal Disorders; Editors: Nisar Chowdri, Fazl Q. Parry, published by Springer). He has 18 years of experiences in the field of surgery with areas of expertise in Laparoscopic Surgery and treating diseases with minimal invasive techniques (Mini/Needle scopic Cholecystectomy/Appendicectomy). He has keen interest to treat diseases of the pelvic floor, colon, rectum and anus.

Currently he is working as an Associate Professor of Surgery in a reputed Govt. Medical College and also available at Square Hospital as a part time Consultant of Colorectal and Laparoscopic Surgery.
